Mediocrity

(back to posts)

Most people believe life is additive.
In this view, two mediocre performers together achieve roughly twice as much as alone: 0.8 + 0.8 = 1.6.

However, As Peter Drucker noted: "Two mediocrities achieve less than one - they get in each other's way."
This is because life is multiplicative: 0.8 x 0.8 = 0.64.

This also means that two stars achieve much more than one, e.g. 2 x 8 = 16.
